A kitten has been born in Australia with two faces. The mutant moggy was born just days ago after its mother suffered complications during birth.
The two faced kitten eats out of just one mouth due to one face having a cleft palette but both mouths meow simultaneously. One of three in the litter, the amazing two faced kitten was the only feline to have any problems.
Veterinarian George Huber and nurse Louisa Burgess delivered the kitten in the Western Australian state city of Perth.
George Burgess said that in her 12-year veterinarian career she had never seen a two-faced cat.“I have seen cats with two tails and extra legs, but not this,” she said.
"It has a full tummy and it survived the night so that is a good sign,” she said. “It seems content, it meows and purrs.“This is the result of a congenital deformity. Something has gone wrong in the early embryonic development.”
The kittens owner is still deciding on a name but is likely to be either Mr Men or Quasi Modo.
