Vincent Richardson: Teen Pretents to be Cop, rides around in Chicago squad car on patrol for 5 hours.

In a classic crazy move, a 14-year-old Vincent Richardson spent 5 hours Saturday driving around in a Chicago police squad car with another qualified cop. Vincent Richardson walked into a station wearing a fake uniform and convinced Chicago's finest of his fake new qualification, ending up on assignment with a now embarrassed officer.

The boy was mealy a keen admirer of the police force, and had no "ill intent" after it was discovered he was not really a police officer after the shift on Chicago's streets, said Assistant Superintendent James Jackson

Richardson pleaded not guilty to impersonating a Chicago police officer in Cook County juveniles court.

Officers discovered Vincent Richardson when they noticed his uniform didn't have an official star.

Police said they were investigating how the "serious security breach" went undetected for so long. Deputy Superintendent Daniel Dugan said the boy looked older than 14.

Chicago media also revealed it was not the first time the boy has attempted to impersonate police.

Vincent Richardson was already on probation for impersonating an officer in December 2007 and was stopped last month at a shopping mall wearing a fake uniform.

Via Chicago Sun Times:

A prosecutor listed police paraphernalia that the boy allegedly owned — including a fictitious Chicago Police Department badge, a CPD hat, handcuff keys and a case, an official sweater with patches and a black vest with a name tag. The boy allegedly had filled his vest with magazines so it would appear he was wearing a bulletproof vest.

The boy stood before Cook County Juvenile Court Judge Andrew Berman wearing a Juvenile Detention Center T-shirt, jeans and a sneakers. His appearance attracted a number of curious lawyers to the courtroom.
Berman ordered that Richardson be held for an evaluation until a court date set for next month
