Is Apple Inc. playing politics over what users can and cant do with their iPhones?
Just like the real incident at a press conference in Baghdad, in a game called "MyShoe" on the iPhone, the iPhone’s accelerometer is utilized to let users throw a shoe at the former President. Users were able to download the game from the iTunes store online.
An unidentified Pakistani man who developed the application says he feels "it (is a) huge discrimination against public opinion, as major portion of world rejects bush polices on Iraq and attacks on Pakistan.”
The application was rejected by Apple who “determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because it contains content that ridicules public figures.”
What happened to you Apple, you used to be cool?
Anyway, here’s the developer’s description of how MyShoe works:
1. You hold the iPhone like a shoe 2. Press on Start button
3. System, starts saying 3, 2, 1 and Go 4. You, swing your arm ( as you are throwing ) without throwing.
5. Application will figure out how hard did you throw the shoe at him and it may or may miss the cartoon.
6. It shoes the total number of shoes that have been hit at the cartoon.
7. We started with Bush, but next in line were Bin-Laden and other figures as well ( apparent from the splash screen).
Enjoy!
