
A list of thousands of names in the Burnard Madoff US$50 billion Ponzi sceme has been aired publicly after a 162-page document was filed with the US Bankruptcy Court in New York.
Its a list of names involved in the largest financial fraud case in history. Burnard Madoff is the former head of the NASDAQ stock exchange and is under house arrest.
The customer list contains names and addresses of individuals and institutions. No amounts of money were given, Reuters said.
Madoff's offices were declared a crime scene after the 70-year-old investment manager was arrested on December 11. Madoff is accused of being apart of the largest Ponzi scheme in history. In a Ponzi scheme or (pyramid sceme), early investors are paid with money from new investors.
The list includes hall of Fame baseball pitcher Sandy Koufax, actor John Malkovich and World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein. US Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey; Fred Wilpon, owner of the New York Mets baseball team; imprisoned class-action lawyer Melvyn Weiss; Filmmaker Steven Spielberg's Wunderkinder Foundation, Columbia University and the charity Jewish Funds for Justice are among other customers listed.
