Flight 234, South African Airways Johannesburg to London, entire crew arrested for alleged cocaine smuggling.Talk about getting high....
The entire crew of a South African airways flight 234 from Johannesburg to London has been arrested at Heathrow International airport customs for suspected smuggling of cocaine.
The bizarre incident came a month after ten women and five men from another South African airways inbound flight were arrested for the same offence.
A South African Airways spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Mail the arrests of their crew.
"I can confirm that the crew of the 234 Johannesburg-to-London flight that arrived yesterday morning have been detained.
"This comes following the discovery of illegal drugs in a bag, that I believe to be hand luggage that wasn't claimed. We are co-operating fully with the authorities and an investigation has been launched at our headquarters in Johannesburg."
Five kilograms of class-A drug cocaine with an estimated street value of £250,000 ($355,000) was seized from the arrested crew, which included the South African Airways pilot.
Sounds like a party!
