Honestly, I don't believe these feats are extraordinary. Yes, I admit, she is a smart child, but I do not think it is worthy of an news feature on Yahoo! I know plenty of children that are capable of speaking two languages at her same age, and yet they are not being praised in the way she is being. Recognizing certain triangles and being able to sound out "mummy" and "daddy" can merely be products of repetition and not genius thought processes. Do not misinterpret my thoughts as denying her ability, I am hardly doing so, but I am providing information that shows how she is not as unique as the entire world is making her seem.
Thank you for taking the time.

My son is 2 years and 3 months - I always thought he learned things very quickly, but was not sure whether that was normal for a toddler his age. After reading this article I think he is similar to Elise. He counts 1-30 in English, 1-10 in Vietnamese, can count backwards from 10-1, can spell 'baby', 'mom', 'dad', 'god', 'matt', 'wait', 'zoo', and of course recite his alphabets.
