Meet Ruppy the Puppy, South Korean beagle is worlds first transgenic dog, glows in the dark!Meet the cutest glow in the dark puppy you'll ever meet, ten day old Ruppy the Fluorescent Puppy!
Ruppy the Fluorescent Puppy is the worlds first transgenic dog, Scientific media report.
Ruppy the Puppy and four other brothers and sisters all glow red under ultraviolet light. It all happens because the puppy's produce a fluorescent protein.
Ruppy the Puppy at 10 days of age.The glow in the dark puppy is the creation of controversial animal cloning scientist Byeong-Chun Lee at Seoul National University, South Korea. Byeong-Chun Lee was part of a team who claimed to have cloned the worlds first dog called Snuppy.
How do you make a fluorescent puppy of your own? Here is how:
1) Infect dog fibroblast cells with a virus carrying gene that makes puppy's glow in dark. Virus will infiltrate cell and inserted the fluorescent gene into a cell's nucleus.
2) Insert fibroblast's nucleus to another dog's egg cell, be sure to have nucleus removed for this.
3) Hold in Petri dish for one week for cell division.
4) after 1 week dividing in a Petri dish, implant cloned embryo into surrogate mother.
5) Wait for your new puppy to arrive from Mr Stalk.
6) Enjoy your new glow in dark, fluorescent puppy dog!
Apparently the whole point of the Fluorescent puppies exercises is to find new ways to treat human medical conditions and find cures for disease.
