Could the H1N1 Swine Flu pandemic of 2009 be the work of lab scientist. A freak accident in an attempt to make a vaccine to save humanity? Professor Adrian Gibbs thinks its possible.
An Australian scientists, Professor Adrian Gibbs says that he believes it is possible that H1N1 Swine Flu virus could have been man made in a laboratory.
The claim by Adrian Gibbs is so serious the World Health Organization (WHO) is looking into the possibility that H1N1 flu virus was indeed created in a laboratory and somehow released into the human population
>H1N1 Swine Flu, Adrian Gibbs says we made it
Did humans make this? Professor Adrian Gibbs says its possible. There is the real possibility that it could be some sort of error in the laboratory," Adrian Gibbs he said.
"One of the things that is known about the flu hemagglutinin gene is that it speeds up when it is grown in eggs, and flu is grown in laboratories in eggs."
The former Australian National University scientist, Professor Adrian Gibbs says scientist working on vaccines for such flu virus' such as bird flu H5N1 may have inadvertently created the deadly H1N1 virus.
75-year-old Professor Adrian Gibbs helped create the drug Tamiflu to fight the H5N1 bird flu virus by drug company Roche Holding AG.
Semi-retired Professor Adrian Gibbs said in a media interview that he intended to publish a report claiming the new strain of flu sweeping the globe could have accidentally evolved in eggs that scientists used to grow viruses and drug makers used to make vaccines.
If Adrian Gibbs claims are correct, it would indeed be an amazing irony to think attempts by drug companies and scientist to stop one potential pandemic has created another.
“One of the simplest explanations is that it’s a laboratory escape,” [Professor Adrian Gibbs said to financial information cable network Bloomberg Television. “But there are lots of others.”
"The sooner we get to grips with where it’s come from, the safer things might become,” Adrian Gibbs said by phone from Canberra, the Australian capital, on Wednesday.
Professor Adrian Gibbs said he came to the conclusion that H1N1 Swine Flu or North American Flu in a wider effort to trace the origins of the deadly flu virus that could affect one in three of all humans within a year. Adrian Gibbs and other have been putting together an effort to discover the H1H1 Flu origins by analyzing the flu virus genetic blueprint.
The WHO is currently reviewing Adrian Gibb’s study. The Professor Adrian Gibbs study was delivered last week to Keiji Fukuda, last weekend. Adrian Gibbs said that his study into the origins of H1N1 was being reviewed by Keiji Fukuda, the assistant director general of health security and environment.
You really want a very sober assessment” of the science behind the man made H1N1 claim, a sober Proffesor Adrian Gibbs said to Bloomberg.
Recognised for his years of work on the evolution of virus', Professor Adrian Gibbs was one of the first scientists in the world to analyze the genetic makeup of the H1N1 virus. Adrian Gibbs theory that the H1N1 2009 virus is man made is something strait out of a Hollywood disaster movie plot.
