The Madoff secretary, Eleanor Squillari. The former secretary to disgraced Manhattan investment businessman and NASDAQ stock exchange chairman Eleanor Squillari has spilt the explosive beans on Bernie Madoff in a saucy Vanity Fair expose.
The 9000 word magazine article titled "“Hello, Madoff!,”" is co-authored by Eleanor Squillari. The lengthy article describes failed investment fraud 70-year-old Bernie Madoff as a sexist, egomaniacal, short-tempered control freak, who everybody loved.
The article reveals that Eleanor Squillari spent many months with the FBI helping the agency investigate one of the biggest investment and financial frauds in world history.
The other co-author is Vanity Fair journalist Mark Seal who was contacted by Eleanor Squillari after his piece on Bernie Madoff featured in Vanity Fairs April issue.
Eleanor Squillari talks to Vanity Fair magazine.A 59-year-old mother of two, Eleanor Squillari lives in Statten Island, New York. Eleanor Squillari had a front roe seat to one of the biggest investment and financial frauds the world has ever seen and helped uncover the US $65 billion Ponsi scheme that ruined thousands.
Most explosively it was revealed by Eleanor Squillari that disgraced investment backer Madoff enjoyed "frequent massages" during work, hurled vicious insults at subordinates and physically fell to pieces as his Ponzi scheme unraveled before his very eyes.
"Bernie could be incredibly generous and incredibly horrible," Eleanor Squillari said.
It was also revealed by Eleanor Squillari that Madoff's wife Ruth Madoff kept a very close eye on her husband when the investment tyrant was around attractive young beauties.
Ruth "kept an eagle eye on him when he was around young attractive women," Squillari said
(He) "had a roving eye and . . . a habit of getting frequent massages," Eleanor Squillari added.
"One day, I caught him scouting the escort pages that run alongside pictures of scantily clad women in the back of a magazine," Eleanor Squillari said. "He straightened up in his chair, startled, and said, 'I'm just looking!"
The personal sectary, Eleanor Squillari also talked about her personal relationship to the Pozi investor:
He tried "to pat me on the ass" and say, "You know it excites you" when he would exit his office bathroom while still zipping his fly.
He'd add, "Oh, you know you're crazy about me," Squillari said.
"Once, he gave me a picture of him taken by Karsh, the famous Canadian photographer, saying, 'Here, hang this over your bed.' "
Madoff -- who frequently used to refer to himself as "one of the most powerful men on Wall Street" -- got downright "nasty" when stress got to him, Eleanor Squillari said. "You look terrible . . . You're gaining weight . . . You're stupid," Madoff would sneer to workers, according to Eleanor Squillari.
On March 12, 2009, Bernie Madoff pled guilty to an 11-count criminal complaint, admitting to defrauding thousands of investors. Federal prosecutors estimated client losses, which included fabricated gains, of almost $65 billion.
