A thirsty, wet and very tired Joshua Childers just wanted "milk and hot dogs" after being lost in the woods for two days alone, US media reported.
The relaxed 3-year-old Joshua Childers sparked a massive search and rescue effort when he went missing earlier this week in the Mark Twain National Forrest.
Adam Childers, the father of lucky Joshua Childers was mystified as to how little Joshua Childers made it though.
"I don't know how he did it," Adam Childers said. "I don't know grown men who could do it. He is one tough booger. I will put him up for the Grizzly Adams award. I'm gonna send him bear hunting with a stick."
A curious Joshua Childers appeared to have wandered away from his parents' mobile home near Arcadia on the very edge of the Mark Twain national park late Monday morning.
Within hours of Joshua Childers disappearance into the woods, hundreds of locals had joined a search involving planes, choppers, divers, dogs and even donkeys to scour the wild, rugged terrain.
Hope began to fade for little Joshua Childers, but that's when local construction worker Donnie Halpin noticed two dogs sniffing at something as he walked along a trail some three miles from where Joshua Childers was last seen.
Wearing just a shirt, diaper and trainers, little Joshua Childers only had the shirt and a single shoe left when found by hero Donnie Halpin.
Donnie Halpin, worried if Josh Childers, who was sleeping at the time was alive. Halpin said he called out: "Hey, bud!" and Josh Childers turned to look at him.
"He jumped right up and grinned at me. I said, 'You ready to go home? He said, 'Yeah'," said hero Donnie Halpin.
"He hung on to me pretty tight. Outside of a few scratches, he was in really good shape," Halpin said of Josh Childers,
