" How to deliver baby"....Marc Stephens with wife Joe and the kids.Where others had Hollywood movies to turn to, UK sailor Marc Stephens had Youtube.
When 28-year-old Marc Stephens realized he would have to deliver his wife's baby on his own, he did what any other rational thinking under 35 would do, consult Google and Youtube.
Knowing his elder children had been born pre-maturely, Marc Stephens thought it would be a good idea to consult disgusting birth videos posted on Youtube for ideas, just in case medical professionals would be able to make it in time.
"I Googled how to deliver a baby, watched a few videos and basically swotted up," Marc Stephens told British media.
"The videos gave me peace of mind. I think I would have coped, but watching videos made things much easier," Marc Stephens added.
"At 2.30am she woke me up, but when I rang the midwife to come, she said they were busy at the hospital. The next thing I know [my wife] is coming through the bedroom doorway on all fours," Birth delivering Youtube hero Marc Stephens explained.
"I looked down and the baby's head was showing."
A few non-descript birth detail moments later, Marc Stephens successfully delivered a 5lbs 5oz boy named Gabriel. Marc Stephens was then able to round up sleepy eyed daughters Jasmine, 2, Sophie, 5, and Zoe, 6, and the whole family went by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in nearby Truro, reports said.
And everyone Googled happily ever after.
