RIP Patrick Swayze?

Listener reports say a Florida Based radio station KISS-FM has confirmed that Patrick Swayze is dead.

Its not yet confirmed officially, but if the reports are true, Patrick Swayze has quickly died from a battle with pancreatic cancer on May 19, 2009 aged 56. RIP.

Actor Patrick Swayze died today, reports say. The 56-year-old Hollywood actor best known for his roles films such as Dirty Dancing (1987) and Ghost (1990), for which he received Golden Globe nominations, along with his performances in Red Dawn (1984), Road House (1989), and Point Break (1991).

Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given a 5% chance to survive.

Last seen in Los Angeles, the former buff actor had shrunk down to 105lbs due to his chemotherapy treatment. In an interview with Barbara Walters earlier this year, Swayze admitted to being scared and asking “why me?”

Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late January 2008, and has undergone chemotherapy and other treatments at the Stanford University Medical Center. Specifically, Swayze was diagnosed with a type of pancreatic tumor called Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasm (IPMN).

In early May 2008, it was widely reported in a number of tabloids that Swayze had undergone surgery to remove part of his stomach after the spread of the cancer and that he had rewritten his will, transferring his property to his wife. As of April 19 2009, doctors have told Swayze that the cancer has now spread to his liver

UPDATE: The Patrick Swayze death story appears to be a rumor at this point. Its not known how the story began but reports surfaced on social networking site Twitter with first reports by BNO News and editors. The extent of Kiss FM's involvement in the apparently untrue story is not known.

A call to a Patrick Swayze publicist says the actor is alive, and not dead as reported.
