What better way to attract tourism to the gambling and casino capital of the world than a world record bikini fashion parade?
The May 14 2009 Guiness World Record Attempt at the World's Largest Bikini Parade took place in front of stunned onlookers.
Some 281 uber hot women in super mini, teeny weeny bikinis paraded down the famous Las Vegas strip in the beautiful Nevada sunshine.
The parade was led by Holly Maddison and the mayor of Las Vegas was there to open world record attempt proceedings.
“The mayor of Las Vegas controls the universe,” Goodman joked during a proclamation ceremony in front of the world-famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign on the casino heart of Vegas.

The bikini world record attempt was in honor of the 50th anniversarry of the installment of the famous welcome sign, the gambling capital of the world Mayor said.
Holly Madison and several other bikini fashion models took part in a pre-parade fashion show at the Las Vegas sign. The event was designed to attract attention back to Las Vages and her hotels and gambling in one of the worst US recessions ever.
The fashion show featured swimsuit fashion designs from several different eras in bikini history.

Gaming revenues for March were down for the 15th straight month, with a 12 percent drop reported from Strip casinos.
