Hollywood legend Farrah Fawcett had died.A blog post on the official Farrah Fawcett blog, from her agent Aaron Miller, said it all today:
"I am sorry to say our Farrah has passed to a better place and left the pain and confines of her bed behind. She is free to be the woman we all knew and loved. So Few have touched so many. You all keep Fighting the Fight. "
Fawcett died at 9:28 a.m. PST at St. John’s Heath Center in California, People Magazine said.
Fawcett had recently returned to hospital for treatment of complications from cancer, first diagnosed three years ago. Her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal was at her side, along with friend Alana Stewart.
"She's gone. She now belongs to the ages," Ryan O'Neil said in a statement.
Farrah Fawcett, who gained fame from "Charlie's Angels", died aged 62.
A multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee, Fawcett shot to international fame in 1976 due in part to her role as private investigator Jill Munroe in the TV series Charlie's Angels.
Fawcett went on to become a critically acclaimed actress, appearing off-Broadway and in highly rated television movies in roles often challenging (The Burning Bed, Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story, Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story, Margaret Bourke-White) and sometimes unsympathetic (Small Sacrifices).
