Bruno talks to a terrorist, with hilarious consequences, creator and charactor actor Sacha Baron Cohen says. The actor who plays the gay fashionista Austrian named Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen, made a rare appearance as himself to explain the bizarre behind the scenes work on the making of the Bruno Movie.
Talking to David Letterman Wednesday night in the US, Sasha Baron Cohen revealed he hunted down a known "terrorist" in Palestine for a very risky and hilarious interview that saw Bruno asked to be kidnapped so he could become, "world famous."
Baron Cohen said: "When we were making this film we thought 'what could people see that they'd never seen before on film?'"
He continued: "And we thought one thing, that one thing would be a comedian interviewing a terrorist. So we showed the outline of the script to the studio and they said 'This is great, who is going to play the terrorist?' And we said 'No we're going to find a real terrorist'."
Sacha Baron Cohen even said he contacted the US intelligence agency the CIA for their help to find "a terrorist" to interview for the film. With a little luck they tracked one down, from the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, in the West Bank.
"Now it's not that easy to find an actual terrorist, in fact, your government has been looking for one for about 9 years," he told Letterman.

Problem is it never happened.
We interviewed said 'terrorist' in the open 50 metres from Israeli soldiers. Cheap.
