A wetsuit designed by Diddo Velema has been dubbed a bloody odd idea by Australian media, where shark attacks are a part of the life of any surfer.
Dutch designer Diddo Velema has created a wetsuit with a shark attack fashion twist, giving the appearance the wearer has been attacked by a shark.
"Wetsuits are both functional and protective, but why must they all look the same?" Diddo Velma was quoted by UK media as saying.
"Is there some unwritten law that dictates we shed our individuality to blend into the monotone waters?," Diddo Velma added
"With that in mind, I took up the challenge to create an alternative.
"With custom inks and unique printing techniques, I was able to map textures onto the suits to create original designs that evoke the mysteries of the seas.
"This wetsuit gives the illusion that the wearer has been attacked by a group of hungry sharks," Diddo Velema said.
With a specialty in bizarre wet suit fashion design, Diddo Velma has also produced surfer wetsuits which look like a rusted iron diving suit, an anatomic musculature suit and a whale shark patterned suit.
The shark attack wetsuit design has attracted criticism from many surfers. One Aussie surfer described the shark attack wetsuit as the "dumbest idea for a product I have ever seen".
