The wife of a former US Politician is suing her husbands alleged mistress, Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd, media in Washington DC report.

Leisha Pickering is suing Elizabeth Creekmore Bryd for ''alienation of affection'' reports say.

An estranged wife to former US Representative Chip Pickering, a Republican from Mississippi is going after his alleged Mistress lover Elizabeth Creekmore Bryd claiming their adulterous love affair ruined their marriage.

Chip Pickering and Leisha Pickering filed for divorce in 2008, but the marriage break up is yet to be finalised.

The bizarre Leisha Pickering suit against Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd is seen as a swipe at her soon to be former husband's reputation.

Leisha Pickering alleges that Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd had dated her husband just after his college days. Unbeknown to Leisha Pickering, Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd and Chip Pickering had continued dating secretly in a adulterous love affair.

Leisha Pickering claimed that Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd "for a number of years met and rekindled her relationship with Pickering."

Claims are that when she finally found out about the adulterous love affair, the Pickering ended their marriage relationship.

Most scandalous is the revelation by Leisha Pickering that Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd had the ”extramarital relationship” with Chip Pickering while he was "a United States congressman prior to and while living in the well-known C Street Complex in Washington, D.C.”

Well actually even more scandalous is the fact that the alleged Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd- Chip Pickering love affair happened when the Pickering lived in a Christian fellowship home on C Street, Washington DC.

Chip Pickering, like other Republican colleagues, Mark Sanford and John Ensign also lived in a Christian fellowship home on C Street in Washington DC at one time or another. All men have been at the centre of love affair scandals in the last month alone.

In response to Leisha Pickering's lawsuit against Elizabeth Creekmore Bryd, Chip Pickering said he was not interested in a public spat over his alleged Elizabterh Creekmore Bryd love affair.

"I still believe it is in the best interest of our five boys if our differences are resolved privately and before the appropriate court and not in the media," Pickering said in a statement, according to The Associated Press.
