Rumours are swirling today about an Apple iSlate device, after a speech by a New York Times executive editor named Bill Keller.

Apple Inc fans and technology geeks the world over are buzzing after the Bill Keller speech on the immediate future of consumer technology's and how old media organizations like the New York Times can best deliver content with the new smartphone type technologies emerging.

In a video clip getting lots of buzz online from October 16 2009, Bill Kelle talks about a possible "Apple iSlate" device said to be forthcoming from Apple, a device that is seen as sort of the iPhone 4G.

The Bill Kelle Apple iSlate clip comes from a video shot at an internal lecture from the Neiman Journalist Lab that featured many key New York Times staff./

"I'm hoping we can get the newsroom more actively involved in the challenge of delivering our best journalism in the form of Times Reader, iPhone apps, WAP, or the impending Apple Slate," Bill Kelle said.

Rumours of an Apple device, often called the Apple iTab or the iPhone 4G, is said to be in late development production at Chinese factories run by Apple Inc (based in California)

The Apple iTab or iSlate or simply Apple Slate could be available to users by mid 2010 and is seen as a large, light, portable and high quality screen display for showing everything from HD TV and movie programs to a high tech news and book content
reader for those on the go.

Earlier this year executives from the New York Times along with other major content producers from news corporations and book publishers over the possible content deals for any iSlate or iTablet device.
