Boy floats away in UFO shaped hot air balloon in Colorado...

A 6-year-old boy, named Falcon Heene, has floated away in a home made balloon in Colorado.

The flying saucer shaped silver experimental home made helium balloon lifted off after Falcon Heene had accessed a door to the bizarre balloon device and somehow lifted off. The drama started in the Colorado town of Fort Collins when Falcon Heene stepped into his fathers home made UFO air balloon.

The Fort Collins boy, the son of retired weather man and sky technology geak, Richard Heene, is trapped in the run away flying saucer. Its belived the epxerimental craft was made by Richard Heene.

Somehow the inquisitive Falcon Heene got into the balloon-like device that looks like a UFO.

Disastrously the balloon came loose from a tether, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. Update: The 6-year-old in the hot air balloon is in big trouble, with the balloon able to reach a height of 10,000 feet, local media said.

A mercy emergency mission is being mounted by FAA and Colorado local authorities in an attempt to rescue the 6-year-old who floated away.

Aviation experts speaking to news in the area say if the balloon is indeed made of helium gas. The balloon will eventually glide to earth as it dissipates, but it may take many, many hours.
