Reports of a shooting at the Barona Resort & Casino in San Diego, California.
UPDATE: San Diego media report the shooting happened when a former Barona Gaming Commission employee named as 38-year-old Donnell Roberts walked into a commission office armed with a shotgun shot and killed a manager, then turned the gun on himself..
Reports say a man described as a disgruntled ex-employee was at the Barona Casino near Lakeside, California just outside San Diego and was in possession of a rifle.
One person was possibly shot in the Barona Casino shooting. There were reports about people being evacuated through windows of the casino and resort.
Other reports said around seven other people are either holed up or being held in offices and a possible hostage situation may be unfolding.
Police radio indicated the Barona Casino gunman might be a former security employee or gaming commission worker at the casino.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of shots fired at the casino around 10 am local time, Tuesday 29th December 2009. A SWAT team was also at the scene.
One user of social networking site Twitter said he knew an employee at the Barona Casino who believed the gunman had created a hostage situation.
"There was a shooting at Barona at 10:10 am today My girlfriends Mom works there and says there is an employee holding people hostage."
