Nexus One: Google Phone Angers Sci-Fi Writers family

Google Smartphone, the Nexus One, creates controversy with daughter of sci-Fi writer Philip K. Dick angered Google set to call its Android Smartphone name.

Isa Dick Hackett, daughter of Philip K. Dick, who wrote the novel that inspired the Blade Runner movie, is “shocked and dismayed” Google will name its new smartphone Nexus One.

The New York Times reported Isa Hackett believed the name of Googles new Android Smartphone set to take on Apples iPhone had “a very obvious connection” to her father's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

That novel tells the story of a generation of rogue called Nexus-6.

“We were never consulted, no requests were made, and we didn't grant any sort of permissions,” Hackett, the President of her fathers estate.

The name for Googles Andorid Smartphone, Nexus One, is not yet official. However leaks from Google employees on the internet indicate the tech and Internet giant indeed plans to call its' smartphone just that.

Isa Hackett said she would be taking legal action against Google for the Nexus reference to the new Smartphone.
