Santa Robs Bank: Santa Clause Robs SunTrust Nashville Bank

Bank video: Santa robbery. Santa robs SunTrust bank in Nashville, Tennessee just before the big day in order to pay his elves.

Santas
difficult recovery from the Global Financial Crisis has seen the big man from the north pole make a quick stop at a bank, just days before the biggest day of St Nick's year.

Reports say Santa held up a Nashville branch of the SunTrust bank at gunpoint and escaped with large wads of cash so he could "pay his elves".

According to Metropolitan Nashville Police, Santa Clause wore his traditional hat, along with his white beard and mustache. The St Nick robber also wore dark sunglasses.

Nashville cops said Santa demanded money from a teller at gunpoint and fled in a car.

Witnesses said bank staffers tried to get Santa to remove his sunglasses, but a pre-Christmas stressed out Santa was having none of it.

Santa pulled out his weapon of choice, a pistol, waved it and demanded cash, in a very jovial manner.

"It was a little unbelievable. He was actually jovial, which is scary. He explained that he was robbing the bank because Santa had to pay his elves," said witness Richlyn Jones.

"I was just wondering if he was going to be stupid enough to hurt somebody, but once he started getting what he wanted, I could see he was going to leave," said another witness James Edwards.

No one was hurt during the Nashville Santa bank robbery. A FBI Task Force and Nashville Metro police are now investigating the Santa robbery case.

They are advised to wait at a nearby chimney, preferably on the evening of December 24 2009 if they are to have a chance of nabbing a very naughty Santa.
