iPad Pre-Orders at Apple Store Creates Web Site Fail

MANHATTAN, New York- The Apple.com store has crashed under the weight of traffic hitting the web site as millions of Apple fans across the United States and elsewhere attempt to make pre-orders for the new gadget, the Apple iPad.

The iPad, set for an April 3 sale launch, has been hyped as the biggest thing from Apple since the iPhone launched back in 2007 to a frenzy of consumer and media attention. Now it looks like the Apple iPad will do the same thing.

The Apple store crashed well before 7am US ET Friday morning indicating interest in the Apple iPad tablet device is very strong indeed.

The Apple iPad is being talked as a potential saviour of the newspaper industry as well as a new device for reading, watching high definition video and as a Wifi based communication device.

The potential success or failure of the Apple iPad is still being hotly debated by tech watchers and financial analysts. However, the fact that the Apple store, a highly frequented web site on a regular day, has crashed, indicates to Wall Street and Silicon Valley Steve Jobs has made a very good move indeed.

Twit,
The store is down for updating - it doesn't go on pre-sale until 05:30 PST. Even down here in Oz we know that.
